Platform Architecture
For the hosted deployment, RI Platform is delivered as a secure web application. Customers access the platform through a browser, and approved customer systems can connect through controlled data integrations.
This page provides a high-level, simplified view of where users, systems, platform services, processing activity, and stored data sit within the RI Platform environment. It is intended for administration, security review, and technical understanding rather than implementation-level deployment documentation.
High-level platform view
RI Platform is designed so that customer access, data integrations, application activity, processing workflows, and stored data are separated into clear platform areas. Customer data is handled inside the secure application environment and is used only by the platform services required to deliver the product.
The hosted RI Platform is typically operated from UK-based infrastructure unless otherwise agreed. Specific data residency, backup, recovery, or hosting requirements may be supported depending on customer needs and agreement. Please contact support@reliable-insights.com when necessary.
Main platform layers
- Secure access layer - Controls how users and approved systems reach the platform. This includes user access, authentication, routing, and controlled entry points for platform workflows.
- RI Platform application - Provides the main product experience, including workspaces, Studio, Pipeline-related administration, user-facing workflows, and administrative functions.
- Managed processing - Supports scheduled workflows, forecasting jobs, data preparation, and background processing required by Studio, Pipeline, and RI Connect workflows.
- Protected data layer - Holds platform data required to operate customer workspaces, including application data, workspace data, uploaded data, Pipeline data, time-series data, forecasts, results, and related metadata.
- Operational safeguards - Support secure and reliable operation through monitoring, logging, controlled configuration, access controls, validation, and operational review.
- Approved external services - Some platform workflows connect to approved external services, such as email, authentication, billing, customer-approved integrations, or approved customer data sources.
Data handling at a high level
Customer data is handled within the secure application environment and is separated by platform function.
At a high level:
- User and workspace data supports authentication, workspace access, role management, administration, and account-related workflows.
- Uploaded and integrated data supports Studio, Pipeline, RI Connect, modelling, forecasting, and result generation.
- Pipeline and time-series data supports scheduled ingestion, deployment runs, alerts, metrics, and operational views.
- Generated results and forecasts are stored and made available through the relevant workspace and product workflows.
- Operational records support monitoring, investigation, traceability, and secure administration where available.
External connections
RI Platform may connect to external services where they are required to deliver the product or support an approved customer workflow.
Examples include:
- Customer-approved datasources.
- Email services.
- Billing services.
How this supports administration
This architecture helps administrators and reviewers understand the main placement of platform responsibilities.
The most important points are:
- Customer users and approved systems enter through controlled access points.
- Workspace, Studio, administration, and integration workflows are handled within the RI Platform application environment.
- Managed processing supports scheduled workflows, forecasting jobs, and background activity.
- Platform data is held within protected data areas used by the relevant product services.
- Operational safeguards support monitoring, logging, controlled configuration, and secure operation.
- Implementation details that are not needed for customer administration are intentionally excluded from the diagram.
