Introducing Workspaces

A workspace is the main area where your team uses the Reliable Insights Platform.

Each workspace contains its own users, subscription, data, experiments, Pipeline resources, Connect data, and results. This keeps work organised and makes it easier to separate different teams, projects, customers, sites, or use cases.

Most actions in the platform happen inside a selected workspace. For example, datasets uploaded in Studio, feeds created in Pipeline, deployments, API keys, and results all belong to the workspace where they were created.

What a workspace controls

A workspace controls the resources and access available to the people using it.

  • Members - The people who can access the workspace.
  • Subscription - The bundle, features, and allowances available to the workspace.
  • Studio resources - Datasets, experiments, and results created in Studio.
  • Pipeline resources - Datasources, feeds, deployments, alerts, and results created in Pipeline.
  • RI Connect access - API keys, starter scripts, API usage, and API-created resources.
  • Credits and capacity - Engine credits, Pipeline credits, user seats, and workspace storage.

When to use multiple workspaces

You may use more than one workspace when you want to keep work separated.

For example, separate workspaces can be useful for:

  • Different teams or departments.
  • Different customers or projects.
  • Development and production workflows.
  • Testing new datasets or configurations separately from live work.
  • Managing different subscriptions and privileges.

Sandbox workspace

Users also have access to a Sandbox workspace. The Sandbox is a pre-made workspace that lets you explore Studio using example datasets before using your own data.
